Nowhere Girl (Europe Comics 2021)

by Magali le Huche. This is the story of a girl growing up in the 1990s – a middle- schooler who finds herself lost in the gulf between childhood and adolescence, developing paralyzing fears of failure, school, other people, and her own changing body. Along the way, she becomes obsessed with the Beatles... which might be just what she needs to find her way back to being okay. Yeah yeah yeah!

The Famous Quartet of Piraeus (Europe Comics 2021)

Written by Giorgos Skabardonis. Art by Dimitris Kerasidis. The Famous Quartet of Piraeus was formed in 1934 as a café band. It was the first group featuring the bouzouki and the baglama, and consisted of frontman Markos Vamvakaris, Giorgos Batis, Anestos Delias, and Stratos Pagioumtzis. Markos’ fiery love for Zingoala, his first wife, is the main and painful source of inspiration for the founder of rebetiko music. Starting as a skinner at a slaughterhouse, Markos becomes a pioneer who paves new paths for traditional Greek music and entertainment, running constantly afoul of the musical mores of the era—as well as the police, his wife, and the dictatorship of Metaxas. And all the while, war is approaching in the background like an inevitable chorus...

Mitchum (Blutch) (2017)

by Blutch. Mitchum is an artistic adventure as fascinating as it is original. Free to invent or break his own rules, Blutch dodges the traps of virtuosity to let emotion alone guide his hand. Interrogating the themes of the gaze, the artist and the model from different angles, Blutch captures with sensuality the sentimental crossovers.

1000 Storms

Lisa is a lonely girl who enjoys wandering nature and collecting odd bones and pebbles. The other kids think she’s kinda weird, maybe a witch, and avoid her. When one day she discovers a tree that allows passage to a parallel world, she finds herself in the middle of a demonic invasion plot, faced with saving the very children who ridiculed her.
In this magical tale (set in the same world as WATERSNAKES), Tony Sandoval takes readers back to his world of mysterious adolescence and surreal beauty. Like WATERSNAKES, and DOOMBOY before it, the reader is faced with recognizable feelings of solitude and longing mixed with danger and adventure through a visual wonderland.

In Search of Lost Time

"Proust was the greatest novelist of the twentieth century, just as Tolstoy was in the nineteenth," wrote Graham Greene. "For those who began to write at the end of the twenties or the beginning of the thirties, there were two great inescapable influences: Proust and Freud, who are mutually complementary." With its sweeping digressions into the past and reflections on the nature of memory, Proust's oceanic novel In Search of Lost Time looms over twentieth-century literature as one of the greatest, yet most endlessly challenging literary experiences. Influencing writers like Virginia Woolf and James Joyce, and even anticipating Albert Einstein in its philosophical explorations of space and time, In Search of Lost Time is a monumental achievement and a virtual rite of passage for any serious lover of literature. by Stéphane Heuet (Adapter), Marcel Proust  (Author).

Discover in this biography mixing comics and documentary chapters, how the youngest of the Jackson 5 was propelled to the front of the stage and then onto one of the most extraordinary solo careers in music. The next volume in the sellout series featuring the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Bob Marley.

Yojimbot

This yojimbo, as you might have guessed by the name of the book, is a robot. He wanders the land, taking on other robot warriors and trying to act within the rules for the betterment of mankind. And then things get turned upside down. Writer/Artist Sylvain Repos is purposefully vague about the details, but the general outline is that robots have their own set of rules that they need to live by, though they’re not quite the same as Isaac Asimov’s most famous ones.
