Yazidi! (2023)

Yazidism is a peaceful religion that has existed almost since the dawn of time. Today, Yazidis in Iraq are one of ISIL's primary targets. In "Yazidi!", Aurélien Ducoudray and Mini Ludvin tell the story of a strong-willed girl and her family during the 2014 Yazidi genocide. It is a tale of fear, oppression, grit, determination, sheer luck, and a whole lot of hope. Stories from the real world don't often have happy endings, but Zéré strives to make one for herself. Dogs of Pripyat

April 26, 1986: A series of explosions ravages the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, contaminating everything in a radius of more than 200 km. After the evacuation of the nearest villages, groups of hunters are formed with the mission of slaughtering the animals affected by radiation and living freely in ghost villages. For thirty rubles per animal killed, a brigade agrees to enter the area. There they will meet the fate of extraordinary characters. Bitter Russia

A rough and touching epic through Chechnya devastated by the war. Mid-90s, a Russian mother tries to survive by selling pirate DVDs in the Moscow subway. She has no news of her son, who is a soldier in operation in Chechnya. One day, she reads her name on a list of prisoners. Volodia is in the hands of the Chechens. At the same time, Bassaiev, the enemy general, announces by press, that he will release his prisoners if their Russian mothers come to fetch them. Without means, listening only to her courage, her whimsical little dog under her arm, she takes the road to this region at war to get her son... Bitter Russia. Scenario: Ducoudray, Aurélien.
