A resistance as heroic as it is hopeless. June 1916 - Commander Raynal, a wounded officer, volunteers for a desperate mission: to take command of Fort Vaux, at the forefront of the French lines and stand up to the advance German offensive. Without means and in appalling conditions, Raynal and his men will fight fiercely, thirsty and holding only thanks to the meager hope of the arrival of reinforcements or a saving counter-offensive.
