I, Dragon

At Rosenthall Castle, everything is ready to celebrate King Belmont's birthday. The artists have just arrived and, one of the members of the troupe waiting for a happy imminent event, the others will ensure the show! But in the vicinity a number of unwanted guests crowded at the gates of Rosenthall: the formidable Troffen and his mercenaries, the volcano Ferona whose jolts make us fear the worst. Indeed, it is whispering that each eruption foreshadows the arrival of a great dragon!
Juan Gimenez is above all a draftsman. Here is more or less what emerges from the reading of this triptych published in one large volume by Glénat. Let us have a compassionate thought for those who had bought the first volume, edited by Le Lombard and left without follow-up, and then go into the heart of the matter. The scenario, without originality, is a mere pretext for a succession of pictures, scenes full of fury supposed to highlight the particular feature of the author of La Caste des Meta-Barons. Is the result up to par? If we just stick to the visual aspect, surely. Although a sometimes static side and a lack of precision in the faces could possibly be pointed, the final rendering fulfills its role: to put full view. I, Dragon.
