Adventures of a Japanese office worker

Adventures of a Japanese office worker is a graphic novel by José Domingo of 2011. José Domingo created Adventures of a Japanese office as a short story for the Fanzine of Xornadas Band Deseñada of Ourense, but, aware of its potential as a long history, prepared a dossier for submission to different publishers in the Comic of Barcelona of 2009. 1 After Bang Ediciones accepted the project, the broad between February and August 2010 at Estudio La Pelu, advancing without a previous script. The work was published on December 12, 2011 in carton , in a format of 24 x 33 cm. The following year, it received the prize for the best work of Spanish author in the Hall of the Comic of Barcelona. Adventures of a Japanese office worker is a silent work, which has a rigid structure of four vignettes per page with a zenith view of the action. It shows in it the influence that video games like Loom , Maniac Mansion , Mario Bros. , Monkey Island or The Legend of Zelda exerted on Jose Domingo. His graphics, however, refers to Chris Ware or the last Max.

The Broken Man

This adventure, which combines the soap opera tradition with that of American comics, is for the moment a reflection on the vision, the crossing of appearances and the solitude of the heroes devoted to the darkness; The album is rich in half a dozen large picture boards where Gess pays tribute to the different graphic styles of the time with a final shift in photography. It is also a return to the sources of the Hypermonde: the Great War is a matrix, radium is a miracle material, the Russian Revolution upsets the European geopolitical chessboard. In short, one enters with the Man rigged in the universe of which the Chimera Brigade tells the end.

Muse (2012)

The hen arrives at the gates of the mansion, Coraline has no idea what she will discover the other side. The sculptural blonde presents itself to occupy a position of preceptor, without knowing more about the personality of the one on whom she will have to watch. The host is hard to pin down and his universe full of surprises.

Fazekas' Pharaoh

Another Classic Hungarian Comic from Attila Fazekas, translated to ENG... Title: Pharaoh AKA: Year: 1977 Original title: A fáraó Pages: 34 Country: Hungary Language: English scanlation Genre: Comics - history, adaptation Written by: Tibor Cs. Horváth Drawn by: Attila Fazekas Plot / Synopsis: Pharaoh (Polish: Faraon) is the fourth and last major novel by the Polish writer Bolesław Prus (1847–1912).
Composed over a year\'s time in 1894–95, it was the solehistorical novel by an author who had earlier disapproved of historical novels on the ground that they inevitably distort history. Perhaps the chief lesson, belatedly absorbed by Ramses as pharaoh, is the importance, to power, of knowledge. Prus\' vision of the fall of an ancient civilization derives some of its power from the author\'s intimate awareness of the final demise of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795, a century before the completion of the novel. Preparatory to writing Pharaoh, Prus immersed himself in ancient Egyptian history, geography, customs, religion, art and writings. In the course of telling his story of power, personality, and the fates of nations, he produced a compelling literary depiction of life at every level of ancient Egyptian society. Further, he offers a vision of mankind as rich as Shakespeare\'s, ranging from the sublime to the quotidian, from the tragic to the comic. The book is written in limpid prose and is imbued with poetry, leavened with humor, graced with moments of transcendent beauty. Pharaoh has been translated into twenty languages and adapted as a 1966 Polish feature film. It is also known to have been Joseph Stalin\'s favourite book.

Dave Cooper’s Weasel Books

The first plates tell of the evening spent with a specimen of female adipose and stupid model: Cooper gives to see in parallel the trembling grease of the girl and the irrepressible excitement of the draftsman. What could be a new immodest introspection soon becomes a meticulously orchestrated descent into hell.
Then come three boards of the Encyclopedia nonsensica : this time, the trembling hatchings have given way to a vegetal design, rich in detail and alveoli, full of relief and volume. The fabulous plants of the encyclopedia are abundantly dissected by three pages of explanatory texts that are rigorously incomprehensible, since Cooper pushed vice to invent a complete writing: three boards, which will delight the readers of Borgès, and who seem to have fallen from space.
Then, Cooper leaves room for Patrick McEown, who delivers an astonishing ten-page story with No Escape - but it should be said: an astonishing narrative of four stories, since the pages do not read linearly but vertically. The readability of the result is not maximum, but the inventiveness is striking (Fred had already used this kind of freedom of construction in Philemon , and Benoît Peeters analyzes the process in Case, Plate, Narrative : with No Escape ,
Finally Cooper loops the first issue of Weasel with a dreamy and confusing narrative in which we find his drawing almost "intestinal" (no, I do not exaggerate, this guy always seems to be drawing guts).

Moebius 0 - The Horny Goof

The Horny Goof, unplanned prequel to the " Hermetic garage " - surprising in its frankness, and even vulgarity, but at the same time charming, with typically Mobiusovskoy agility and crazy story told. In the afterword, the author wrote what many consider The Detour (1973), the beginning of the creation of Mobius, but that story was signed by "Gir" and was a most manifest freely, nothing and no one are not constrained creativity. The Horny Goof (1974) is the same as the time the first product of this manifesto, the forerunner of "Arzak" and "garage" (being an intricate mixture of fantasy, humor and deliberately mysterious plot moves), and the first story Mobius "for adults".

Moebius-Heavy Metal Presents Moebius (1981)

Along with his fellow artists, he founded Métal Hurlant, which eventually evolved into — and was outlived by — the English language magazine Heavy Metal. It was at Métal Hurlant that Mœbius introduced perhaps his most iconic character, the silent warrior Arzarch. The strips, originally just four short stories, follow Arzach as he rides his pterodactyl across vast expanses, and was groundbreaking at the time for not featuring any dialogue, narrative captions, or even sound-effects.

Moebius 6 - Pharagonesia

"Shore Leave on Pharagonesia" is a tale of the crew of a spaceship whose naive decision to sample the local culture has disastrous consequences.

Moebius 7 - The Goddess

This out-of-print English translation collects The Goddess and Black Thursday by Jean "Moebius" Giraud.

Moebius 9 - Stel

In the initial story, Moebius introduces two genderless protagonists, Stel and Atan, who crash on a barren planet and must traverse it in an old Citroën. They eventually stumble on a camp of interstellar refugees surrounding a mysterious pyramid, and are transported to an unknown world described as a 'Garden of Eden somewhere in another galaxy'. The open ending of the Citroën story inspired Moebius to wonder what would happen next. He plotted out three or four books' worth of stories that were also conceived as the basis of a coherent Moebius universe, one which crossed over with other major works like The Airtight Garage. In effect, a recurrent character in the series was "Master [Maître in French] Burg", Stel's dream guide who aided him in his quest on Edena, which was a palindrome of "[Major] Grubert", the main protagonist of The Airtight Garage, and by Moebius intended to be one and the same person.
