Legend of the Scarlet Blades (repost)

Follow the journey of the amnesic ronin Raido in a medieval Japan where spirits still exert their magic on the land. Raido, a young amnesic Ronin-a masterless Samurai-roams about in a quest for his memories. His first stop is the city that talks to the sky, the ultimate stronghold against the ice invading the land of the rising sun. There, he meets Meiki, a graceful puppeteer and storyteller of charms.

Legend of the Scarlet Blades, as painted by the tormented and airy style of Saverio Tenuta, is a series whose universe is inspired by feudal Japanese history and traditions, full of breathtaking settings and populated by a myriad of wondrous mythical beings. Cartoonist Saverio Tenuta writes and paints a twisted tale of a masterless Samurai named Raido searching for clues to his bloody past in a feudal Japan ruled by spirits and beasts. Highly recommended for fans of Samurai's BLADE OF THE IMMORTAL, and Koike/Kojima's LONE WOLF. Legend of the Scarlet Blades.

Screaming Planet (repost)

A collection of Sci-Fi short stories all written by Alejandro Jodorowsky ("The Incal", "The Metabarons") and illustrated by talent from various countries and different graphic traditions. The thematic thread of these tales: an asteroid spawned from the destruction of a planet produces sounds (a "howling shriek") which, when crossing an inhabited world, creates a change or imbalance within it.

Screaming Planet collects eleven of Jodorowsky's stories all sharing a creative thematic core, but transpiring within different times, places, and dimensions. To achieve such a diverse presentation, Jodorowsky employs a medley of artists on each strip.

The Dangerous Journey (2010)

A little girl is transported with the help of magic glasses from the tedium of a summer afternoon into an exciting world of mangrove swamps, spluttering volcanoes and sea where birds fly upside down and wild things threaten to pounce. But she is not alone. Old friends from Moomin Valley - Hemulen, Sniff, Snufkin, Thingummy & Bob - have joined her on the journey, and Moomin too, who rides to their rescue in a stripey balloon. This brand new version of a 'lost classic' pairs Jansson's irresistible artwork with a playful rhyming text by one of Britain's star poets. Tove Jansson.

Pfitos (1996)

A drunken Greek guy has to become a hero, defeat monsters and save a pretty girl all the while fighting against the evil Hera, queen of the Gods. Read about the adventures of the not-so-great hero Pifitos(who just happens to be the nephew of Odysseus), from newly found unknown poem by Homer. Satirs, nymphs, centaurians and gods running around, causing trouble for humans. Early work by Ukrainian artist Igor Baranko.

Epsilon (2014)

La Faune de Mars (2018)

by Moebius. Everyone now knows that the planet Mars is barren. However, robots are sent there at great expense, equipped with small remote-controlled shovels, which stubbornly dig the arid soil in the hope of discovering the curled-up fossils of ancient bacteria.

Philippe Druillet - short stories translated

Philippe Druillet is one of the best European BD artists from the 1970s and 1980s, and it was great when Heavy Metal magazine began translating and publishing his work in the 1970s.

The Hunted Hunter

by Moebius. Drawn between 2005 and 2008. Moebius was obviously feeling death approaching so he was frantically studying and practicing Carlos Castaneda's "The Art of Dreaming". The French edition's name is "The depressed Hunter" but we prefer "The Hunted Hunter", the Spanish name.

A Jew in Communist Prague (repost)

A Jew in Communist Prague is the title of a series of graphic novels created by Vittorio Giardino. They feature the main character Jonas Fink. They are published in the United States by NBM.

Jonas is a young Jew in 1950's Prague whose father is arrested by the communist police. He and his mother have to cope with the discrimination and oppression of Joseph Stalin's regime. The book, collected as A Jew in Communist Prague, won the Angoulème Alfred prize for best foreign work in 1995 as well as a Harvey Award at San Diego in 1999. Giardino detailed art style recalls the French ligne claire, while his writing owes to hard boiled and spy story authors like Dashiell Hammett and John le Carré.

Chevalier Brayard (2017)

Chevalier Brayard is on his way back home from the crusades, accompanied by the young monk Rignomer. On their travels, they cross paths with a young girl, Princess Hadiyatallah, who turns out to be a hostage on the run. Brayard does not hesitate for a moment: he decides to escort the princess back to the orient to return her to her father in exchange for a ransom, and drags Rignomer along on the adventure. And so begins a journey that promises to be particularly fantastic... Zidrou, Porcel Francis

Philippe Tome, Mac Hardy - FIRE 1 (2005) (Scantilation)

A rocket carrying a human baby girl crashes on a distant planet where intelligent dinosaurs have developed a civilization. I really like Hardy's cartoonish style here. Unfortunately, due to disagreements between the creators and the publisher, the series will not be continued, even though a second album was written and drawn. Some nudity and violence.

Griffo - Beatifica Blues vol 1

The world has become a vast desert and to survive, humans need the Beatifica Blues, a little miracle pill to breathe. This pill has become the currency, and it is the government that manages it. Beatifica Blues is a 1980s post apocalyptic fiction so it is somewhat dated but that's fine, it is still million times better than your average American comic. The series was 3 volumes, and is simply the prologue of the Samba Bugatti series. The plot isn't very logical at times and Dufaux himself admits it, but it was an early work by him.

The Metabarons (repost)

The Metabarons or The Saga of The Meta-Barons is a science fiction comic series relating the history of a dynasty of perfect warriors known as the Metabarons. The Metabarons series was written by creator Alejandro Jodorowsky and illustrated by Argentinian artist Juan Giménez. The series, published by Humanoïdes Associés, is complete, the last volume having been released at the end of 2003.

The first appearance of a Metabaron (chronologically the last of the Metabarons) was May 1981 in the Incal comic book series. This was followed by a series of prequels that concerned this character's origin, presented as the narration of the android Tonto to the android Lothar, of his masters' achievements. The series takes place over the course of several generations, and chronicles the life of each of the five Metabarons. The stories depict aspace opera reminiscent of Greek tragedy, and heavily influenced by Frank Herbert's Dune novels.

Les Aventures de Tanguy et Laverdure is a Franco-Belgian comics series created by Jean-Michel Charlier and Albert Uderzo, about the two pilots Michel Tanguy and Ernest Laverdure, and their adventures in the French Air Force.

Tanguy and Laverdure are two friends from the flying school with opposite personalities. While Tanguy is serious, honest and obedient, Laverdure is eccentric, blundering and awkward. However, Laverdure is a strong team mate for Tanguy in difficult situations. Dangerous missions and spying are everyday tasks for the two pilots, who are flying aces and efficient defenders of their homeland.
Leaving the Salon-de-Provence Air School, they are sent to the Meknès Air School to improve their knowledge. Just arrived, they search through the snowy Anti-Atlas to retrieve a lost warhead with confidential information. Later, Michel Tanguy and Ernest Laverdure join the Cigognes squadron, (which once included such flying aces as Georges Guynemer) where they pilot the Mirage III plane. Their adventures lead them to Dijon air base, Tel Aviv and Greenland.
