Sibylline

Sibylline is a series of Franco-Belgian comics created in the newspaper Spirou no.14034 March 1965 by Raymond Macherot, supported by Paul Deliège scenario for albums of  no.5 to no.7.

After a long hiatus, the series resumed in 2006 by André Taymans, helped by Raymond Macherot and François Corteggianithe scenario of some stories. Distributed album editions Dupuis from 1967, it is abandoned by the same publishing house before reaching the hands of editions Flouzemaker in 2006. Published in the journal Spirou from 1965 to 1990, the series features Sibylline , a little mouse anthropomorphic who lives in Happy Grove. There, she faces enemies like Anathema who want to take power. The series, beginning at tinged with humor and kindness will switch into the fantastic and supernatural, with wicked increasingly violent. 

The series depicts the little mouse anthropomorphic Sibylline who took up residence at Happy Grove, after living in a human home. The small world of Happy Grove is organized like a small animal society with its merchants, its font, its army and its villains who want to overthrow the government. Subsequently, the series is increasingly tinged by keys fantastic and supernatural where the wicked, which become increasingly dangerous, take the lead in the stories at the expense of the nice Sibylline.

The Mad Monk

The Mad Monk is a series of comic strip created by Vink in Charlie Monthly in December 1983 and published in albums since 1984 by Éditions Dargaud. Ten volumes were published from 1984 to 1999. From 2000, the series has continued as the Voyages of He Pao. Made direct color, The Mad Monk immediately captivated the audience with his "pictorial beauty" and its atmosphere "special". 

In feudal China of Song, a young girl of Western origin, He Pao, was raised by foster parents as a tomboy nicknamed "Little Barbarian", and becomes a great practitioner of martial arts. She goes in search of a monk who would own knowledge of martial arts so thoroughly that he would have gone mad. The action takes place in ancient China during the Period of Song when the North "barbarians" attack and occupy part of the country.

Roco Vargas

Chinaman

Chinaman is a series of comic of the designer Olivier TaDuc and screenwriter Serge Le Tendre, originally published in The Associated Humanoids, then at Dupuis from 2001. 

The hero, Chen Long Anh, was renamed China Chinaman on his arrival by immigration services to San Francisco. Like his compatriots, he worked on the construction of the first transcontinental railroad. He is a former mercenary who love freedom and justice. The story is set in the Wild West in the xix th  century. As in the episodes, he will apprehend the new world in its own way with its culture and ideas. It will often have to fight in a world that resents the difference. He will try to get a place but mostly injustices around, will make him to push to act.

Tif and Tondu

Tif et Tondu (Tif and Tondu) is a Belgian comic strip about a duo of private investigators, originally created, written and drawn by Fernand Dineur. Several artists and writers have worked on the series but the most popular version is that drawn by Will, with writers Maurice Rosy, Maurice Tillieux and Stephen Desberg. The strip first started in 1938 and lasted until 1997, just one year short of its 60th birthday. Tif and Tondu are adventurers and detectives who solve cases around the world, from the United States to the Congo. The central irony of the series' title was that the two friends had names which actually better suited the other: Tif is French slang for "hair" yet the character is bald-headed and clean-shaven. He also tends to be more reckless and has an eye for the ladies.

Tondu is the French for "sheared" but he wears thick hair and beard. He is also more level-headed and is the brains of the partnership. He often takes up journalism when short of money. 

The series made its debut on 21 April 1938 in the first issue of Spirou magazine as Aventures de Tif, written and drawn by Fernand Dineur. Within a few issues Tif had made the acquaintance of Tondu, ashipwrecked sea captain, and the two joined forces, traveling the world in search of adventure.
In 1949, Dineur passed the drawing over to Will, but continued to provide the scenarios for the next three years before retiring from the strip. At this time, their adventures were also published in Héroic Albums, drawn by Dineur. Another artist, Marcel Denis, also contributed a handful of stories in the early 1960s. Will himself worked on the strip for almost 40 years in collaboration with various writers. This period, kept together by his distinctive drawing and handling of the characters, is seen as the strip's golden age.

IR$

IR$ is a Franco-Belgian comics series written by Stephen Desberg, illustrated by Bernard Vrancken and published by Le Lombard in French and Cinebook in English. 

Larry B. Max is one of the few specialists in a special department of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), an American tax collection agency. Reading the circuits of escape and laundering of money like no other person, Larry has all the computer resources necessary to demonstrate the links between the very rich and organized crime. One of the most difficult cases he’s come up to deals with a wealthy American Jew known for his involvement in the recovery of property confiscated by Nazis. Lady S.

Lady S. is a Franco-Belgian comics series written by Jean Van Hamme, illustrated by Philippe Aymond and published by Dupuis in French and Cinebook in English. Lady S. is an agent working for the secretive non-governmental organisation the Centre for Anti-Terrorism Research and Intelligence Gathering (CATRIG). She is also the aide to her adopted father who is a USA diplomat. Previously she had been a refugee and a thief. CATRIG is an organisation and nobody has clue on that. It has been run by a group of retired intelligence officers of EU. 

Adopted daughter and principal collaborator of James Fitzroy, roving ambassador, special correspondent for the American Secretary of State in Europe, Susan is a clever, multilingual young woman, in full bloom and perfectly happy in the eyes of an attentive father.But this too-perfect happiness hides many faults, sorrows and mysteries. Trapped by her past, Susan will have to play her most dangerous role in a life already rich with adventure: Lady S, high-class spy in a diplomatic environment.

 

Theodore Poussin

Théodore Poussin is a comic book series created by French writer Frank Le Gall about a glasses-wearing hero - it was first published in 1984, in Spirou magazine. The third volume of the series, Marie-Vérité won 1989 Angoulême International Comics Festival Prize for Best Comic Book. Dunkirk, 1927. 

Born in 1902 in Dunkerque, Théodore Poussin is a young adventurer, bald head and round glasses. The character is inspired by the grandfather Frank Le Gall, Theodore Charles De Haan and his newspaper. The young Théodore Poussin, clerk in a shipping company, dreams of going to sea and go exploring. So he embarks among the crew of the Cap Padaran as a pupil Commissioner, and share in the footsteps of his uncle, Charles Steene, missing and presumed dead in 1916 in Haiphong. He ignores that he will not see his family before Dunkirk and three years during which he will live many adventures, exercising various trades, from Singapore to Saigon.

Dallas Barr

Dallas Barr is a comic book series (or "graphic novel") by Belgian artist Marvano (Mark van Oppen) adapted from American science fiction author Joe Haldeman's 1989 novel Buying Time. The series ran from 1996 to 2005. Although the first comic in the series clearly draws on Joe Haldeman's Buying Time ( UK title: The Long Habit of Living), the plots of the following volumes continue beyond the end of the original novel. The plots of the continuation were written by Haldeman in English, translated into French by Marvano. The later volumes are written by Marvano alone, as Haldeman found him to do a good job.

The protagonist, Dallas Barr, is 132 years old. The series takes place around 2075, in a world where a prolonged life is available to the ultra rich through the Stileman Procedure, where the moon is a colony and AIDS-X is rampant.  In the series the author challenges the reader to reflect on the issues at hand. Politics, philosophy and humanity's stupidity are often given a chance in this series. Over the years, the plot got more complicated and the characters came to their full potential, while at the same time its philosophical considerations deepened.

Zodiac

Chicago is in sync with provocations such a methodical serial killer implacable. The press has given it a name: Aries. Inspector Stephen Aries tries to trace his trail before he had time to put his last threat. But when the coincidences end up looking like evidence, it is on Aries itself that the jaws of the vise threaten to close. This comic series created in 2012 by Scénario : Guy Delcourt,  Éric Corbeyran and Drawings : Horne, Sébastien Goethals, Sébastien Verdier, Alexis Robin, Hugo Palasie, Nicolas Lannoy, Ullcer and many more artists.

Another victim of Aries has been discovered, the tenth. The Inspector Stephen Aries is on the trail of a serial killer, but it always seems one step ahead. To work on a case of news, Vic, the companion of Aries and lecturer at the university, is working on his profile with his students, and if it was a cop? The eleventh prey is even advertised in newspapers by the psycho killer himself. Hurry up. In question, the inspector will have to use other means than those used to date ... The challenge of Aries inaugurates a new line of albums concocted by screenwriter based on an idea of ​​his publisher, Guy Delcourt and brought to life by a group of designers to guarantee a rate of monthly publication. Alpha

Alpha is a series of comic collection Third Wave published by Le Lombard. Series of espionage hyper realist, it staged an agent of the CIA (Dwight Tyler Delano, codenamed Alpha) and her assistant Sheena Ferguson (from Volume 4).

Pascal Renard has scripted the first two volumes. When he died in April 1996 at age 35, Mythic takes the scenario of the series in hand. The drawings are the work of Youri Jigounov who also wrote the script of Volume 11. From the twelfth book, he devotes himself only to writing, drawing now being directed by Chris Lamquet. 

A Russian envoy dealing with a banker European to exchange rubles against the USD at a very favorable rate for the buyer. However, the amount involved interests a mafia group and the CIA. Following a massacre, the emissary finds himself isolated. In addition, the bag containing the securities in rubles mysteriously disappears. Alpha, a young CIA agent acting under the French artist cover, comes to his aid as part of his undercover mission. The Russian Alpha asks to go to Moscow to exhibit his paintings. In Russia, Alpha is brought to be with a young artist, a friend of his patron, actually the son of a powerful Russian mafia clan leader Bogdanov. Some time later the son took control of the clan by eliminating all the faithful of the bodyguards of his father, killing his own father. However, the FSB does not see a very good eye illicit activities of the clan. Using military means, it decimates the clan in order to isolate the son Bogdanov. During an appointment, Alpha realizes he was trapped by his superiors, which seized the securities bag. However, Bogdanov son is aware of the appointment and proceeds to the elimination of rogue CIA agents. For its part, the FSB and eliminates standby in turn mafia.

1800 is a collection of comics published by Soleil and offering series taking place at the xix th  century: historical series, literary adaptations, fantastic etc. It is headed by Jean-Luc Istin.

Aquablue

Aquablue is a French science fiction graphic novel by writer Thierry Cailleteau with several artists, Olivier Vatine (first volumes) and Ciro Tota (middle volumes) and Stéphane Brangier ('Siro', latest volumes). An adventure and military-based series, it also features ecological themes and criticism of colonial exploitation. Much of the series has been translated into German and parts into English. 

Aquablue centers around the adventures of Wilfried Morgenstern, called Nao, young orphan and one of the sole survivors of the White Star cruise spaceliner wreck. Growing up on a space lifeboat with only Cybot (a simple but sentient and caring robotic nurse) to care for him, he eventually arrives on Aquablue, a planet almost totally covered by water. Arriving on the surface, Uruk-Uru - a gigantic manta ray-shaped whale - takes an interest in him before disappearing back into the depths of the sea.

Taken in by the primitive blue-skinned humanoid natives who see in him a messenger of their gods due to the visitation of Uruk-Uru, he grows up one of their own. Eventually he becomes a strong young man, skilled at swimming, diving and fishing to non-human levels, even though he does not have the gills and other water-adaptions the locals possess. His abilities, strength and ingenuity - as well as the friends he makes during his adventures - help him overcome the issues he faces during the series.

Golden City

Golden City is a series of French comic of science fiction. On the state-ship Golden City, a privileged population lives near the coast impoverished by the rising waters. But the secrets of the city, its leader Harrison Banks will be the victim of a plot to replace it with a clone. Scenario: Daniel Pecqueur. Drawings: Nicolas Malfin. Colours: Pierre Schelle. Publishers : Delcourt.

Golden City is a majestic city built on the ocean, away from overcrowding and violence prevailing on the continent. Only the most wealthy citizens are allowed there. When flying land, the plane carrying the wife of the President of Golden City, Harrison Banks, mysteriously crashed. Banks then embarked on a perilous investigation into unknown territory. 

Attila Adventures

Attila Adventures also entitled Attila is a series of Franco-Belgian comics of adventure humorous animal created in 1967 by the Belgian writer Maurice Rosy and Swiss designer Derib in no.1531 of the newspaper Spirou. From 1968, Maurice Kornblum will co-write with Rosy scenarios of the series. The drawing will be resumed in 1987 by Didge for ultimate story.

The series features the dog Attila, spy of the Swiss army, whose mental faculties were increased, notably with the acquisition of speech, to become their best player. He is accompanied by his master Ernest Bourrillon, a former quartermaster. From the album no.2, it adopts a young boy named Odee, then from the next album, they are helped by another spy dog known as the Z14, created by Professor Comant.

Published in Spirou from 1967 to 1973 and then in 1987, this story is published alongside soft album Dupuis from 1969. The same publishing house published four albums until 1974, then a full in 2010. That same year, The Cow who meditates publishes the fifth story, hitherto unpublished, as an album.

Originally based on humor produced by the dog shift both spy and as another animal, the series will deviate to the world of science fiction. This intrusion will score a disagreement between the duo screenwriters Maurice Rosy - Maurice Kornblum and Derib designer who will prematurely end the series, though promised by lovers of comics to become a classic.

Largo Winch

Largo Winch is a Belgian comic book series by Philippe Francq and Jean Van Hamme, published by Dupuis. It has started as a series of novels by Jean Van Hamme in the late 1970s, but stopped due to a lack of success and the huge amount of work Van Hamme had in the meantime with his comic books (e.g. Thorgal). When artist Philippe Francq wanted to start a series with Van Hamme, he revived his old hero, and reworked the novels into the first albums of the comic series. Later, new stories followed.

Its principal character is Largo Winch; birth name Largo Winczlav, who was born in Yugoslavia. Other important characters include Nerio Winch (his adoptive father, though they share a great-grandparent), senior Group W executives John D. Sullivan and Dwight E. Cochrane, and his friend Simon Ovronnaz. In the first two volumes of the series, L'héritier and Le Groupe W, Largo, a young and handsome orphan, is propelled to the head of a business empire, Group W, after his adoptive father Nerio is murdered, and goes through a lot of troubles to preserve his inheritance and avenge Nerio. The following albums are more or less based on the same basic plot: someone is trying to harm Largo's company or to take control of it from him, and he has to fight that someone to ensure the survival of his holdings. Almost every story arc involves corrupt authority figures of a type which Nerio easily manipulated, but Largo confronts from the viewpoint of an "everyman".

Namibia

Namibia is a series of comic of adventure fantastic Franco-Belgian, the second cycle of Kenya, designed by Bertrand Marchaland written by Leo and Rudolph. Edited and published by Dargaud, the first album was released on 12 March 2010. 

1948, Göring, Reichmarschall sad memory of the Second World War, was sighted in Namibia although it is officially ... dead! Just returned from her mission to Kenya, Cathy Austin is therefore returned to Africa by MI5. She discovers an alien threat on site makes chilling: a race of aliens fee indeed DNA from human cadavers to rebuild and occupy the bodies. These discrete scouts (unless they bring to life the body of Göring!) Rise in the Namibian field insects that they also genetically modified to make it a massive colonization weapon! This is the first volume of the second season of Kenya drawn by Bertrand Marshal who gets the Leo style to perfection. Katherine "Kathy" Austin, the main character of the story, is an agent of the Secret Intelligence Service mission.
