Fazekas' Pharaoh
Another Classic Hungarian Comic from Attila Fazekas, translated to ENG... Title: Pharaoh AKA: Year: 1977 Original title: A fáraó Pages: 34 Country: Hungary Language: English scanlation Genre: Comics - history, adaptation Written by: Tibor Cs. Horváth Drawn by: Attila Fazekas Plot / Synopsis: Pharaoh (Polish: Faraon) is the fourth and last major novel by the Polish writer Bolesław Prus (1847–1912).
Composed over a year\'s time in 1894–95, it was the solehistorical novel by an author who had earlier disapproved of historical novels on the ground that they inevitably distort history. Perhaps the chief lesson, belatedly absorbed by Ramses as pharaoh, is the importance, to power, of knowledge. Prus\' vision of the fall of an ancient civilization derives some of its power from the author\'s intimate awareness of the final demise of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in 1795, a century before the completion of the novel. Preparatory to writing Pharaoh, Prus immersed himself in ancient Egyptian history, geography, customs, religion, art and writings. In the course of telling his story of power, personality, and the fates of nations, he produced a compelling literary depiction of life at every level of ancient Egyptian society. Further, he offers a vision of mankind as rich as Shakespeare\'s, ranging from the sublime to the quotidian, from the tragic to the comic. The book is written in limpid prose and is imbued with poetry, leavened with humor, graced with moments of transcendent beauty. Pharaoh has been translated into twenty languages and adapted as a 1966 Polish feature film. It is also known to have been Joseph Stalin\'s favourite book.

The Secret History
The Secret History is a series of French comic derivative from the Arcane series , also published by Delcourt. 32 volumes are planned. Authors: Script by: Jean-Pierre Pécau. Drawings: Igor Kordey (Volumes 1, 2 and 6-32), Goran Sudzuka and Geto (Volume 3), Leo Pilipovic (volumes 4 and 5)
Colours: Carole Beau (volumes 1 to 7), Isabelle Rabarot (volumes 3 and 6), Fabrys (volumes 5 and 7), Chris Chucky (volumes 8-11), Leonard O'Grady (volumes 12-32).
The scenario offers a rereading of the history of humanity in the light of the theory of a "magical plot" in which four and five magicians (also called archons) sometimes clash and sometimes share control of 'humanity. Since prehistory, they hatched in the shadows to guide decisions of great historical figures who are, quite often, their puppets. The principle at the base of their magic is "retro-synchronicity", thanks to which they can, with inspired cards tarot (arcana), see the possibilities of the immediate or distant future and influence to more favorable probabilities according to their interests of the moment. The scope of the vision and the shift depends on the power and talent of the manipulator, but wilts over time. These 'passes' allow them to change the course of events and illuminate new light on several authentic episodes of history, which are still poorly explained today: the ten plagues of Egypt, the Holy Grail, the many Win Napoleon, the great fire of London, the meteoric rise of Nazism, etc. This database is the start of a scenario of some complexity. Nothing is simple, and the information given to readers in dribs and drabs. The series, created retrospectively, leads to two other series (Arcana and Major Arcana) exploiting the events of recent history.
