Zombies

Zombies is a series of comic post-apocalyptic imagined by Olivier Peru and Sophian Cholet . A spin-off derived from the series (Volume 0) exists, and the authors are working on others, including the series Zombies Néchronologies. In the first cycle, Sam flees the epidemic ravaging the planet and turns men into hungry undead. Neither particularly good nor inherently bad, Sam does his best to survive and try to find her daughter. In his quest, he makes surprising encounters that will help him remember what it means to be human. In Volume 0, we find one of the iconic characters of the first round, Serge Lapointe, at the beginning of the epidemic. We discover what a man he was before and what events led him to become the man we meet in the first round. The screenwriter, Oliver Peru, advises reading the first cycle before Volume 0, but this volume is a story that can be read quite independent from the series.
Human beings should not reign at the top of the food chain. The zombies have stolen his place and nothing seems to stop them. Is this the end of humanity? Not sure for some it is only a beginning. Six billion people covered with flies trying to kill some other does not change much within the meaning of the word civilization. This is what makes Sam a man who owes its salvation to Smith & Wesson and a little luck. He fled the cities and left her daughter behind. Yet now that silence reigns over the United States, he still believes in life. And his conscience, treacherous hitherto chloroform, reminds him that staying human is hope. He has to find it the only way to survive. Like looking for a straw in a bunch of needles.

Lanfeust of Troy

Lanfeust of Troy is a long-running French language comic series written by Christophe Arleston, drawn by Didier Tarquin, and published by Soleil Productions. On the world of Troy, most humans have a single magic power. Each power is unique to the person and includes such diverse feats as walking on water, personal teleportation, and causing thirst in others. However, none can use their power unless in the close or remote presence of a sage of Eckmül, Troy's truest version of a studied magician.
Lanfeust is an orphan and an apprentice blacksmith who can heat metal at will. His adventure begins when he's asked to mend the sword of a passing aristocrat. When handling the sword's pommel, which was made of ivory from the Magohamoth—a legendary magical beast—Lanfeust gains the power to use any power known in Troy, more so without the presence of a sage. Nicolede, both the local sage and Lanfeust's future father-in-law, persuades Lanfeust to accompany him and his daughters C'ian and Cixi to the University of Magic in Eckmül in order to learn more about this phenomenon.
Among the many perils faced during their journey, they are ultimately confronted by Thanos, a pirate with the same potential as Lanfeust who will do whatever it takes to steal the ivory of the Magohamoth. Successful in the francophone world from which it arose, Lanfeust of Troy has spawned one sequel and several spin-offs and prequels.

The Secret History

The Secret History is a series of French comic derivative from the Arcane series , also published by Delcourt. 32 volumes are planned. Authors: Script by: Jean-Pierre Pécau. Drawings: Igor Kordey (Volumes 1, 2 and 6-32), Goran Sudzuka and Geto (Volume 3), Leo Pilipovic (volumes 4 and 5)
Colours: Carole Beau (volumes 1 to 7), Isabelle Rabarot (volumes 3 and 6), Fabrys (volumes 5 and 7), Chris Chucky (volumes 8-11), Leonard O'Grady (volumes 12-32).
The scenario offers a rereading of the history of humanity in the light of the theory of a "magical plot" in which four and five magicians (also called archons) sometimes clash and sometimes share control of 'humanity. Since prehistory, they hatched in the shadows to guide decisions of great historical figures who are, quite often, their puppets. The principle at the base of their magic is "retro-synchronicity", thanks to which they can, with inspired cards tarot (arcana), see the possibilities of the immediate or distant future and influence to more favorable probabilities according to their interests of the moment. The scope of the vision and the shift depends on the power and talent of the manipulator, but wilts over time. These 'passes' allow them to change the course of events and illuminate new light on several authentic episodes of history, which are still poorly explained today: the ten plagues of Egypt, the Holy Grail, the many Win Napoleon, the great fire of London, the meteoric rise of Nazism, etc. This database is the start of a scenario of some complexity. Nothing is simple, and the information given to readers in dribs and drabs. The series, created retrospectively, leads to two other series (Arcana and Major Arcana) exploiting the events of recent history.

Marsupilami

Marsupilami is a fictional comic book species created by André Franquin, first published on 31 January 1952 in the Franco-Belgian comics magazine Spirou. Since then it appeared regularly in the popular Belgian comic book series Spirou et Fantasio until Franquin stopped working on the series in 1968 and the character dropped out soon afterward. In the late 1980s, the Marsupilami got its own successful spin-off series of comic albums, Marsupilami, written by Greg, Yann and Dugomier and drawn by Batem, launching the publishing house Marsu Productions. Later, two animated shows featuring this character, as well as a Sega Genesis video game and a variety of other merchandise followed. The asteroid 98494 Marsupilami is named in its honour. The name is a portmanteau of the words marsupial, Pilou-Pilou (the French name for Eugene the Jeep, a character Franquin loved as a kid) and ami, French for friend.
Marsupilami's adventures had been translated to several languages, like Dutch, German, Greek, Spanish, Portuguese and several Scandinavian languages. More than three million albums of the Marsupilami series are claimed to have been sold by Marsu Productions.
One album of Spirou and Fantasio featuring Marsupilami, number 15, was translated to English by Fantasy Flight Publishing in 1995, although it is currently out of print. Plans on releasing number 16 ended halfway through the translation process, due to bad sales. In 2007, Egmont's subsidiary Euro Books translated albums number 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 14 for the Indian market.
In 2013, Dupuis bought Marsu Productions and its characters, thereby allowing a new production of Spirou and Fantasio adventures including Marsupilami.

Little Spirou

Le Petit Spirou (Little Spirou) is a popular Belgian comic strip created by Tome and Janry in 1987. The series developed from La jeunesse de Spirou (1987), a Spirou et Fantasio album in which Tome and Janry (at the time the authors of the series) set to imagine Spirou's youth. It was developed into a spin-off series shortly afterwards and the authors have focused on it ever since the controversy created after their final Spirou et Fantasio album, Machine qui rêve (1998). New albums are among the bestselling French-language comics, with 330,000 copies for the latest one.
In addition to continuing to develop the character in the spirit of previous Spirou et Fantasio author Franquin, in this series Tome and Janry paid homage to Franquin's manner of animating the gag's signature.
This series details the antics of the character as an elementary schoolboy. A lot of the gags center around the character's interest in the opposite sex, most notably he and his pals coming up with ways of spying on the girls' showers and dressing room. Other topics concern religion and the contradictions and absurdities of the adult world. It is generally acknowledged that, psychologically speaking, the character in Le Petit Spirou has little in common with the clean-cut adult he will become.

Smurfs

The Smurfs (French: Les Schtroumpfs) (Dutch: De Smurfen) is a Belgian comic and television franchise centered on a fictional colony of small blue creatures who live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest. The Smurfs was first created and introduced as a series of comic characters by the Belgian comics artist Peyo (pen name of Pierre Culliford) in 1958, where they were known as Les Schtroumpfs.
There are more than one hundred Smurf characters, and their names are based on adjectives that emphasize their characteristics, such as "Jokey Smurf", who likes to play practical jokes on his fellow smurfs. "Smurfette" was the first female Smurf to be introduced in the series. The Smurfs wear Phrygian caps, which came to represent freedom during the modern era. The word “Smurf” is the original Dutch translation of the French "Schtroumpf", which, according to Peyo, is a word invented during a meal with fellow cartoonist André Franquin, when he could not remember the word salt. The Smurfs franchise began as a comic and expanded into advertising, films, TV series, ice capades, video games, theme parks, and dolls.
