Sylvain and Sylvette

Sylvain et Sylvette is a French comics series created in 1941 by Maurice Cuvillier. The most popular and successful series relating the adventures of Sylvain and Sylvette were drawn by Jean-Louis Pesch and are currently published by Dargaud. This is the only series still unfinished and published.
These Youth stories recount the adventures of Sylvain and Sylvette, two children of about twelve years, brother and sister, who, having strayed a day, live in a forest company of pets in an isolated cottage. They would lead a peaceful life without the presence of "Compères" a wildlife band made a fox, a bear, a wolf and a wild boar who regularly try to appropriate their cottage and biens. Sylvain and Sylvette are shod hooves, their dress is that of the french agricultural world of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries: hat, shirt and patched work pants for Sylvain, woolen stockings and skirt with apron for Sylvette. They live in a cottage in the heart of the forest in autarky. Their rustic lifestyle is agricultural and forestier. Ils are careful to protect the animals that live with them the incessant appetite cronies.
