Tarao is the eponymous hero of a series of comics written by Roger Lécureux and designed by Raphael Marcello, who appears for the first time in no.703 of the newspaper Pif Gadget (Vaillant no. 1941) in September 1982.
This series consists of 38 episodes of a dozen boards each. The publication was very spread out over time because the last episode seems that in 1990, 8 years after the first. For a long novel in albums, Tarao is published by The Taupinambour since 2010 in hardback collections episodes from May to July.
Tarao is a child of 12 who lives alone at the time of prehistory. Become amnesiac at the age of 9, he travels the world in search of other "monkeys-to-skin-smooth". The last three episodes teach us that Tarao is none other than the son of Rahan.
