For more than a century, Ylgaard has been the capital of the Magi. They express their art within the Arcanade, a place of research that includes many schools, each corresponding to a field of magic expression. Time Managers are the most modest of these communities. Hardly they reach the glory with the discovery of the Slices of Time that they are all murdered during a bloody night! All except Gillian who, miraculously, escapes the massacre.
