Uchronie(s)

This series relies on the principal of "Uchronics", or alternate worlds: the story unfolds across three parallel universes, where New York could have become New Byzance, New Harlem, or New York; three cities which provide the titles for the three sub-series of Uchronie(s). Zak Kosinski is a man equipped with prescience. In New Byzance, dominated by a fundamentalist Utopia, he traces the authors of future crimes, and implants dreams into their subconsciences to prevent those crimes. In New Harlem, where Black Power assures the supremacy of the black population, the white Zak is bought as a child by a businessman, to foresee the best operating practises of his company. As the story unfolds, Zak's positions of social advantage in New Byzance and New Harlem are turned around. In both cases, he finds himself hounded by the orders he serves.
In New York, Zak's father, a mad scientist, put his son to sleep for ten years. On awakening, Zak is troubled by visions of the parallel universes, and is menaced by those who would control his father's discoveries. Author: Éric Corbeyran. Artist: Éric Chabbert (New Byzance & Epilogue), Tibéry (New Harlem), Djillali Defali (New York). Publisher: Glénat - collection Grafica.
