Old Pa Anderson (2020)

by Hermann Huppen (Illustrator), Yves Huppen. The US state of Mississippi, during the segregation of the 1960s. All his life old Anderson has been slavish and obedient. When his daughter was brutally murdered a few years ago, the old black man has always known that the culprits were white and that the court would never do anything about it. Yesterday his wife died of old age.

Assholes (2021)

Simon Kennedy and Chuck Atkins are well-known TV presenters. With their bleached teeth, dyed hair and overly bronzed skin they’re trying to look as young as they did twenty years ago. In the course of an 18-hole round of golf, they endlessly spew out vile remarks – denigrating the caddy, ethnic minorities and especially women. These sexist, racist jocks are utterly repellent in every way, yet Bram Algoed and Micah Stahl keep managing to make them seem a little bit human… until you turn the page and Simon and Chuck once again cross every line of decency.

Nationalist Love (2021)

When Zapsky and Byro meet during a right-wing nationalist march, their joint escape from the police results in an unexpected and violent outburst of passion. Their initial euphoria quickly turns into doubt and fear—after all, if their buddies found out about them, the consequences would be terrible... But now that they’ve come together, will they be able to simply forget and move on with their lives? Or is it something more lasting, despite the risk it represents for both? "Nationalist Love" is the third graphic novel by Jakub Topor, nominated for the graphic novel of the year award at the Lodz Comics Festival.

Buffalo Runner - One Shot - (2015, Oger)

1896. Henri Ducharmes and his two children are on their way from New Orleans to the Californian Eldorado when they're attacked by a small group of renegades. Ed Fisher, an old and ornery cowpoke, intervenes to save young Mary from the massacre. They hold-up in a broken down hacienda to await the dawn, when the rest of the Indian band are expected to attack. During a long and sleepless night, Ed relates his adventurous and cursed life, and the tragedies that hound him. One major theme -- slaughter of the buffalo -- was central to the conquest of the West, since it weakened the Indians and allowed the development of ranches and rail lines, and the parceling of the plains.

Unforgivable (2015)

The bounty hunters finally found the traces of Carter, the most wanted bandit in the country. Ready to do anything to save his skin, the latter abandons his family to the hands of his pursuers. Ten years later, his son became an outlaw without mercy. Carter, consumed by remorse, decides to save him at all costs from the fate that awaits him.

Animal'z (Enki Bilal)

The Earth as we know it disappeared during the "coup de sang", a global climatic disruption. Soon after, the few scattered survivors are looking for Edens, areas hypothetically spared, and drinking water, extremely rare.

Jeremiah

Jeremiah is a Belgian comic book series by Hermann Huppen. It was created in 1979 for the German magazine Zack and also appeared in Métal Hurlant, Spiroumagazine, and Politikin Zabavnik. Currently, there are 32 volumes and one Hors Série in French and Dutch.
Racial wars have torn the US apart, resulting in a post-apocalyptic world. Many small pockets of civilization still exist; from isolated super high-tech fortresses, hidden research labs, or racial groups in walled-in cities. All fighting each other among the more regular population which in many ways resembles the "old west".
Jeremiah and his friend Kurdy travel the country, taking the odd job, and getting mixed up in various affairs. Jeremiah, being the more noble of the two, often sticks his neck out to help others, while Kurdy is a more wily, opportunistic scoundrel. The story carries little from album to album, meaning they can be read individually.
