A delicate balance is tipped into chaos with the discovery of a mysterious blank book—and the dark energies it threatens to unleash. All Providence wants is to escape: to somewhere quiet, isolated, and peaceful, like the strange high house he keeps seeing reflected in the park’s pond…

World Without End (Europe Comics 2022)

Script by Christophe Blain, Jean-Marc Jancovici - Art by Christophe Blain. An insightful and amusing look at the energy and climate challenges facing our world today. Is this the end of the world? Perhaps not yet… With humor and intelligence, “World Without End” is the fruit of a years-long collaboration between two of the most accomplished contemporary figures in comics and climate research. Together, Christophe Blain (“Quai d’Orsay,” Dargaud) and Jean-Marc Jancovici (Carbone 4, The Shift Project) explore our dependence on fossil fuels, the profound changes our planet is undergoing, and the resulting consequences for society as a whole. The dream of endless economic growth might be an illusion… but that doesn’t mean we are doomed to destruction, if we take the necessary steps today. A candid and empathetic analysis that leaves readers with a better understanding of today’s world and where we go from here as a society.

Biotope

Welcome to Biotope! Vegetation as far as the eye can see, perfect sports facilities, but also endless boredom ... On Biotope, planet whose ecosystem is studied by scientists living in a vacuum, a murder has been committed. Passionate crime, claim the leaders of the base. "This is what we are going to see," replies in substance Commissioner Toussaint, sent on the spot with his two assistants to shed light on the circumstances of the tragedy. The investigation begins. It looks difficult ... Biotope happily renews the genre of police investigation. First, through the narrative. The story takes place in a slightly scary setting but conducive to all twists and turns: a base cut off from the rest of the world, populated by suspicious scientists and not necessarily above all suspicion. By its main characters, then: three "Black" police officers led by a grumpy, claustrophobic commissioner and deprived of his sin, the cigarette. And finally by its distanced humor and its jovial graphics, which gives rise to an exciting contrast between the appearance of lightness of the story and the dramatic springs implemented by the scenario. Script by Appollo - Art by Brüno.

Inspector Moroni

Inspector Moroni is a concentrate of the neuroses of our society. His job allows him to use his sense of analysis, which he believes infallible. But his paranoid tendency locks him up in a world where he sees only schemes and plots. The cheerful adventures of an Inspector Harry under tranquilizers.
No holiday for Inspector Moroni! Still psychogenic, he is reminded of his leave to negotiate a delicate taking of hostages. But how was the life of innocent people entrusted to this guy who does not understand anything? Simply because of a new concept of crisis management: "fire by fire", facilitate dialogue by sending a negotiator of the same character as the hostage taker. And there it is a well lit psychopate. Moroni is therefore entirely chosen to discuss with Eugene Puthoff, inventor of a water engine, or former storekeeper and sexual pervert according to the versions of each. Is it a drama or a comedy? On reading this album, we do not know if we should laugh or cry so much the two kinds mix. Between the misunderstandings linked to the profoundly naive character of this stuck cop, a sort of Mr Magoo whose myopia lies within his cortex, and the reality of a life puffed by maternal omnipresence.

When a wave of murders bloodying the right company, it is instructed to find a culprit, quickly and without making waves ... This is without counting his insubordination because he is determined to lead the investigation, regardless the cost ... a police adventure in the heart of Russia's Catherine the Great in the eighteenth century torn between respect for tradition and the emancipation of the Enlightenment. Screenplay: Patrick Weber | Design: Bruno Brindisi.
A prince killed the crucifix in the reserve of a church, this is an investigation that could not escape Alexis Novikov, bloodhound in the service of the imperial police. Over the murders and panic which follow the high society of St. Petersburg, Novikov is increasingly intrigued by the threats utter a mysterious secret society, the St. Georges Boyars. Conspiracy cutter libertarian impulses of a certain nobility or low maneuver interested in easy money, the slaughter never ceases Novikov and is soon caught between the exalted monks and a princess who is waiting to drop the neckline.

Darwin's Diaries

Charles Darwin is known as the Father of Evolution. But his hidden diaries reveal that he studied other, less natural things as well. Victorian England. In Yorkshire, several men and horses working on a railway line have been killed—slaughtered, really. The police suspect some kind of wild beast. The government calls upon controversial naturalist Charles Darwin to help with the investigation. A reasonable move, but one that is dictated rather by the least known part of his work: research on what other people would qualify as legendary creatures. It won’t be long before the scientist discovers that he may be right about them after all. Writer: Sylvain Runberg. Designer: Eduardo Ocaña. Darwin's Diaries.
